A Permanent Formula with Many Zero-Valued Terms

چکیده
Applying nite-diierences to a generating function produces formulas for the permanent of a matrix. We present a setting of the nite-diierence parameters for which the permanent formula has many zero-valued terms when applied to 0-1 matrices. We outline a method to reduce computation by eliminating sets of zero-valued terms and show that the method signiicantly increases the computation speed.

A Permanent Algorithm with (expp N 1 4 4 Log 2 N 1 P 2e ]) Expected Speedup for 0-1 Matrices
Formulas for the matrix permanent can be derived by applying-nite diierences to a generating function. For 0-1 matrices, some choices of nite-diierence parameters produce formulas with many zero-valued terms. Eliminating sets of these terms speeds the computation. In this paper, we use a permanent decomposition identity to introduce more parameters. We show that a class of random parameter sett...
متن کاملZero sets in pointfree topology and strongly $z$-ideals
In this paper a particular case of z-ideals, called strongly z-ideal, is defined by introducing zero sets in pointfree topology. We study strongly z-ideals, their relation with z-ideals and the role of spatiality in this relation. For strongly z-ideals, we analyze prime ideals using the concept of zero sets. Moreover, it is proven that the intersection of all zero sets of a prime ideal of C(L),...
متن کاملDecomposition of H*-Algebra Valued Negative Definite Functions on Topological *-Semigroups
In the present paper, among other results, a decomposition formula is given for the w-bounded continuous negative definite functions of a topological *-semigroup S with a weight function w into a proper H*-algebra A in terms of w-bounded continuous positive definite A-valued functions on S. A generalization of a well-known result of K. Harzallah is obtained. An earlier conjecture of the author ...
متن کاملPOINT DERIVATIONS ON BANACH ALGEBRAS OF α-LIPSCHITZ VECTOR-VALUED OPERATORS
The Lipschitz function algebras were first defined in the 1960s by some mathematicians, including Schubert. Initially, the Lipschitz real-value and complex-value functions are defined and quantitative properties of these algebras are investigated. Over time these algebras have been studied and generalized by many mathematicians such as Cao, Zhang, Xu, Weaver, and others. Let be a non-emp...
متن کاملNew Recursions for Genus-zero Gromov-witten Invariants
New relations among the genus-zero Gromov-Witten invariants of a complex projective manifold X are exhibited. When the cohomology of X is generated by divisor classes and classes “with vanishing one-point invariants,” the relations determine many-point invariants in terms of one-point invariants. 0. Introduction The localization theorem for equivariant cohomology has recently been used with gre...
